Medical Services

At AFMC our dedicated team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses join together to provide primary medical care for adult patients Our focus is on disease recognition and prevention.

We believe in healthy living and endeavor to provide services that support your optimal health in the following ways:

We treat chronic medical problems to prevent further progression of the disease and long term complications that arise from the disease. We are not able to treat serious medical conditions at this time nor do we have specialists in areas other than Dermatology.

If you need medications, we may be able to provide these for you. We have a limited supply of medications that we can give to you.

If you have an emergency medical condition we will direct you towards the nearest emergency department. If you need a specialist we can provide a referral for you to the appropriate specialist.

We do not currently have the capacity to do x-rays, urgent labs or emergency procedures.

We will endeavor to offer you the highest quality of care possible. In return, we ask that our patients be active participants in their care. We will ask that you be on time for your appointments and that if, for some reason you can’t make it to an appointment, that you let us know as soon as possible. For the initial visit and any visit for a new problem, we recommend that you arrive at 8:30 AM since we see a limited number of patients on a first come, first serve basis.

We look forward to working with you helping you stay healthy.

Dermatology Services:

Pediatric Services: (Services provided every Wednesday evening)

The Ashland Free Medical Clinic  provides services for children every Wednesday evening.  This Clinic is open from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Community pediatricians, nurses and volunteers operate this clinic for children between birth and 12 years of age.  (Children older than this are served by the San Lorenzo High School Clinic in the same building.)  We see children who are ill or who have ongoing medical problems.  Please note that a child who has an illness felt to be life-threatening should be taken to an Emergency Room.

We also provide “well child care”, which includes routine examinations of children.  In some cases this involves filling out the papers necessary for enrolling your child in school, etc.  We are also pleased to offer initial contact and advice for behavior problems, parenting challenges, questions relating to child development and school problems.  In many cases programs are available to help you receive ongoing care from community doctors, and we can help you in establishing such contact.

We are not able to provide immunizations at this time, but can provide easy referral to other community clinics, sometimes in the same building, that can provide this service.

All medical services are free.  No appointments are necessary – just drop in at 6 pm on Wednesdays.  In some cases we can supply medicines.  In others, we can help you get the lowest price for prescription medications.  It is a pleasure and an honor for us to work in your community.  If we can help, come see us!
